Say Goodbye To Headaches NATURALLY!
5 Tips That Can Help Eliminate Them Once & For All
An occasional headache every now and then is not a big deal. It typically subsides after some rest and you can go about your day without any major inconvenience.
The problem is when those headaches become chronic and very intense to the point where it causes many to take off from work, stay in a dark room for days and be out of commission for a while.
For the last 10 yrs, we have helped many patients naturally reduce and in many cases eliminate their headaches very effectively with non-invasive treatments. We wanted to share some common recommendations that we give to them in hopes to help headache sufferers as much as possible.
#1 Check your Blood Pressure
When patients come in to get treatment for any kind of condition, we want to identify the trigger. What is causing that person to experience, in this case, a headache. Once we identify the cause, we can then target our treatments appropriately and get faster results that are long lasting. High blood pressure, otherwise known as hypertension, can very well be one of the reasons a person experiences repeated headaches. Many people are actually undiagnosed because hypertension does not have many obvious signs and symptoms. So, if it’s been a while since you checked your blood pressure, breakout that blood pressure cuff and see if you are around 130/80.
#2 Butterbur
Studies show that butterbur prevents headaches in adults. 75mg twice a day is a good dosage to start off with. “A study published in Neurology found that butterbur extract, at a dose of 75 mg twice daily for four months, reduced migraine attack frequency an average of 48 percent, compared to 26 percent for a placebo. ” (1)
#3 Magnesium
“In a double-blind trial of 81 people, ages 18 to 65, with migraines, a dose of 600 mg of magnesium per day was significantly more effective than a placebo at reducing the frequency of migraines. In weeks 9 through 12, the attack frequency was reduced by 41.6 percent in the magnesium group and by 15.8 percent in the placebo group.” (2) 200mg 2-3 times a day would be a good start. If you start experiencing diarrhea, decrease the dosage.
#4 Hydrate!!!
As you may already know, hydration is very important since 75% of your body is made up of water. When a person is dehydrated that leads to an imbalance of electrolytes in the body which very often results in a headache. When your body is dehydrated your brain may temporarily shrink from fluid loss and causes the brain to pull away from the skull (OUCH!
). As you can imagine, this can cause a headache.
#5 Natural therapies
You may searched on Google ways to treat and get rid of headaches and I bet you have seen Acupuncture as a respected option. There are several reasons for that.
a. Acupuncture reduces muscle tension around the neck and head
b. Reduces stress and anxiety levels
c. Releases our natural pain killers that our body produces
d. Balances hormones which can cause headaches when they are unbalanced
If you are tired of constantly having to rely on pain killers and medication just to function on the days you get a headache, try the above recommendations. Please note that the information provided in this article are not intended for treatment and are purely educational and if you ever experience a severe headache like never before accompanied by:
· Double vision
· Stiff neck
· Confusion
· Paralysis
· Deafness in one ear
· Weakness
You should go to the emergency room for proper testing as it can be a medical emergency.
